If you’re of a certain age, you probably remember the old stereo consoles that were all-in-one units housing speakers, a radio, and a turntable. As cassette tapes and CDs began to rise, anything with a turntable went out the door. Now that vinyl has been making a resurgence over the last decade, designers are back to creating furniture to house your audio gear, including your records. Department Chicago has thrown their hat into the ring with their Hifi-Console, which is a mid-century inspired unit for the modern generation.
The Hifi-Console is decked out with a Bluetooth-enabled amp that will connect to your favorite devices, along with audio inputs to connect your TV, turntable, and any other audio accessories you may have. The designers made it easy to use – simply plug in the power cord and flip the “on” switch and you’re ready to connect wirelessly via Bluetooth or through one of your audio connections.
They’re working with an experienced audio engineer to ensure the sound and function of the console is high quality while keeping it at an affordable price.
You can preorder the Hifi-Console through their Kickstarter campaign.
