If you’ve been to Europe, especially Finland, chances are you’ve caught glimpses of the adorable Moomin cartoons that have been capturing the hearts of children (and adults) since 1945 when Tove Jansson first dreamt up the concept. Now the iconic Finnish brand Artek is introducing the cherished Moomin characters on the Alvar Aalto-designed Table 90B, Stool 60, Stool E60, Children’s Stool NE60, and Children’s Chair N65.

The styles selected for this collaboration are the beautiful line drawings that were part of Jansson’s work in the 1950s. The simple black sketches find themselves on white surfaces, the perfect addition to the clean designs that make up Aalto’s work.
