This house by, located in Los Angeles, could have been published in our Skim Milk column today…
Designed by XTEN Architecture, the Nakahouse is a minimalist beauty located on high in the Hollywood hills with a breathtaking view of the Hollywood sign. You would never know that this is not a new home, but a remodel. The interior was completely reconfigured and the exterior was opened up to embrace the natural surroundings. Terraces and large windows and doors were added, as well as a sundeck. The exterior is finished in a smooth black Meoded Venetian plaster system, which makes it look like a sculpture siting amongst the trees.

I love modernism and minimalism, but this house is just too cold, unwelcoming and unlivable. And don’t even get me started about cleaning all those white floors and patio.
