Israeli designer Nir Meiri recently launched a new series of objects that take a look at shapes and materiality, reflecting his interest in ethical design. New Mexico, unveiled at 19 Greek Street during the London Design Festival, explores the combination of handcraft and industrialism taking a look at consumption in design and the possibility of incorporating recycling, upcycling, and locality.
The series uses a combination of store-bought terra-cotta clay pots, wood components handmade with a lathe, and 3D printing to create plant pots, ceiling lamps, table lamps, and speakers.
