Cast iron post and pans can sometimes look antiquated and let’s be honest – they’re ridiculously heavy. Eva Solo decided to bring the idea of cast iron to a Scandinavian lifestyle with a new series called Nordic Kitchen. The collection includes pots, frying pans, a saucepan, a sauté pan, and a grill frying pan, each made of aluminum with a cast iron black finish. The frying pans and saucepan feature oak handles giving them a more Scandinavian look. To round out the collection, they’ve also designed a beech wood knife stand, black mixing bowls, and oak and leather cutting boards.
The cookware is made of lightweight aluminum making them easy to handle when cooking and cleaning. With a PFOA-free PTFE four-layer, non-stick Slip-Let® coating, the pieces require little fat when cooking and they’re easy to clean. They’re designed for use on all heat sources, even induction, and the pieces without wood accents can be thrown in the dishwasher.
Nordic Kitchen will be presented at Top Drawer in January 2017 by their UK distributer Forma House.
