The ANWAR collection was born from Stephen Burks’ love of ethnic craftsmanship, making the partnership with Parachilna a good one. Burks’ idea might seem simple at first glance but the complex metal structures tested the skills of the metalsmiths. 96 steel rods had to be individually welded into a 20cm ring, each with a different curve so they’d all fit together when assembling. Three open volumes were designed to be used individually or combined in sets of two. The family includes three floor lamps, three hanging lamps, and the range of combinations you can come up with.
Jaime Hayon’s ABALLS was exactly what the brand was looking for – straightforward, but made with “rich materials, traditional skills blended with artisanal craftsmanship and impeccable finishes.” Blown glass spheres are used for three different sized pendant lamps and two different sized table lamps, and a striking chandelier with 24 globes. Each fixture comes in either a golden electroplated, white, or black lacquered steel ceramic base.
