Pro-Ject Audio Debut line turntables look as good as they sound, with sleek carbon fiber finishes representing the contemporary resurgence of analog appreciation. They’ve become a standard for their simple set-up, and are outfitted with components that belie their affordable price tag: metal platter, carbon tube arm, and Ortofon 2M Red moving-magnet cartridge – all reasons I ended up purchasing one of their decks myself. But while most of Pro-Ject Audio turntables are finished with a reserved minimalist eye, their Artist Collection lets things loose, with designs more flamboyantly inspired by music and the musicians themselves.
The Pro-Ject Audio Artist Collection other collaborative designs include works inspired by Third Man Records (Jack White), The Rolling Stones, and Parov Stelar, each designed with their own customized specifications and modifications that instill these special editions a unique character of their own.
