The ECLIPSE Tray Is a Practice in Functional Minimalism

There are times when you need a design to be pure and simple, with no extra details to distract from its sole function. Such is the case for the Eclipse trays designed by Paris-based designer Alban Le Henry for Portuguese brand MOR Design. Made from Portuguese marble from Estremoz or solid ash wood, the Eclipse trays offer an elegant surface to serve food or just elevate objects off of countertops. Their beauty comes from the veining and color variations, ensuring each piece is one of a kind. The surprise is on the backside of the short edge. Two semi-circles are carved out to create handles, alluding to the name of the tray. The Eclipse trays are decorative, practical, and a testament to the idea that simple is best when it comes to timeless design.
