i29 Architects completed the design of new offices for Tribal DDB Amsterdam, a digital marketing agency of approximately 80 people.
As most digital agencies are designed these days, the floorplan is open and flexible. However, as many of us who have worked in these open offices know, there isn’t much privacy and they can be loud and distracting. i29 looked for a solution to help reduce noise and increase privacy, while still keeping the open feel, so they used fabrics to help absorb sound. Using large quantities of felt, they covered ceilings, walls, furniture and lamps.

I LOVE this… would make a great design studio layout.

This is beautiful space and you explain that felt was used to keep the noise down. A couple of things come to mind: 1. The color choice of felt. Is that grey a happy, color? 2. The neat and clean freak in me wants to know how they clean the felt.
