Finnish born designer Tuomas Kuure now resides in Bilbao, Spain where he began handcrafting his unique art-driven pieces of furniture made from wood. While navigating a design’s function, Kuure manages to elevate each piece’s purpose by making it a piece of art and calling it “art furniture“. He works with wood and changes its form with machines and tools, and becomes inspired with it when it doesn’t always turn out exactly as imagined, resulting in happy accidents that give the design its soul. What’s revealed are wood grains, broken pieces, and cracks that give them character.
