Rather than the typical body pillows found in the US, Koreans have a “bamboo wife”, a long tube constructed of bamboo cane that users hugs at night, keeping the body cool on hot summer nights.
Yena Young created a new version, called Wooden Wife, made out of European maple wood. Not only is it a cooling sleeping companion, it’s also a light that casts a beautiful geometric shadow in the dark. Any of the openings easily stretch to accommodate changing the bulb.
