The Woolly Capsule Coffee Machine Drips With Warmly Tactile Details
Ideally your coffee habit includes using freshly roasted whole beans only ground moments before you plan to enjoy that first cup of the day. That said, there are many coffee drinkers who forgo such studied preparation, elevating convenience on par with the flavor of their favorite morning beverage, explaining the popularity of capsule coffee machines. But sometimes life demands coffee – and the caffeine it delivers with it – be served immediately.
Turkish industrial designer İbrahim Can Erdinçmer’s handsomely realized Woolly capsule coffee machine concept imagines a design as smooth and organic as the coffee it’s engineered to serve.
The Woolly coffee machine is designed around the concept of tactile design, an approach emphasizing the sense of touch and its importance in functionality and ergonomics. With gently realized geometric detailing paired with a soft palette of pastel hues, the designer intentionally set to diverge from typical small kitchen appliance tropes – sleek and impersonal – for one as warm and inviting as the beverage itself. A wood panel top, subtly textured plastic body, and a few strips of metal embellish like latte art.
Woolly is currently a concept-only coffee preparation appliance, but machines like the Terra Kaffe TK-02, xBloom, and myriad of other coffee preparation devices requiring varying degrees of skill level are available today to upgrade your drip game.
