While it pains me to hear that Seth Remsnyder‘s son was stillborn in April, it’s also inspiring to learn how his work has become a place for healing as well. His flowing, organic paintings create “a literal grasping for hope.”
Bold arching lines and curves are reminiscent of arms reaching. Layers upon layers of colors, patterns, and texture only begin to hint at the depth of the artist’s emotions.
As far as viewers are concerned my desire is that they get lost in the canvas, that they find each piece to be a place to set down their baggage if you will.
