Tabletop Accessories Made of Corian by Justin Bailey Design

On the heels of exhibiting at WantedDesign’s 2017 Launchpad and IDS Toronto’s Prototype 2017, Justin Bailey’s Lucid Series explores new uses for solid surface Corian®. The resulting collection features three tabletop accessories including a vase, candleholder, and serving tray.

Instead of using the material as it’s normally presented, as countertops and sinks, Bailey reimagines it for three-dimensional objects with undulating surfaces. Both the Poche Vase and Candleholder are composed of two mirroring thermoformed facades that form a sealed space inside for functionality. The Lucid Tray also has a rippled surface with two pockets on either end to hold the tray, as well as flat areas to hold your food in place.
