Etsy Update

I recently added three new original drawings (the “Jewel Grid” series) to my Etsy shop. The bottom right photo is my newest, completed painting called “Understanding”. It is not for sale at this time.
New Etsy Prints
Here are some new prints in my Etsy shop.
Elizabeth Duffy

Dear Ada is always a great resource for talented artists, and I always find something beautiful on her site. Today is no exception. She has featured Elizabeth Duffy, who has a series of drawings utilizing the patterns on the insides of envelopes. What a unique idea! I have always loved envelope patterns: in fact, I bookmarked a Flickr set showcasing various envelope security patterns here.

New Print from Yellena

Yellena’s latest print, “Allusion”, is inspiration heaven for me.

Aili Schmeltz

I am dying over Aili Schmeltz’s drawings and paintings. The abstract landscape is something I am really into lately, even in my own work.
Jim Denevan

Jim Denevan makes freehand art in sand using a piece of driftwood, sometimes for up to 7 hours. Then the water washes it away. Talk about the journey and not the result. See more images at his website below.

Etsy!
I opened an Etsy shop:
Feanne

Feanne has two new original pieces available. I love the flow of the lines in her work.
Bartleby’s Brother

Thanks to Decor8, I have found Bartleby’s Brother over on Etsy. I love the artwork and I really want a piece for my home.
David Byrne Chair Art

David Byrne’s whimsical and unique chair designs are being exhibited by the Pace/MacGill Gallery in NY. Who doesn’t love David Byrne?
Carla Avruch

Carla Avruch does colored pencil abstracts on tracing paper. Wow.
On her website, she states: “I am working on a micro level to create a sense of intimacy. The drawings are small, which forces the viewer to peer closely at the images. These drawings are meant to be examined as one would examine a natural object under a microscope; thoroughly, so as to get every physical detail. The biomorphic shapes relate to shapes in the human body, such as neurotransmitters. The movement of the viewer’s eyes literally mimics the way information would fire across a neurotransmitter. In this way, energy is also important to my work. The movement and light in the drawings are both direct references to energy.”
