If you’re a fan of the classic Verner Panton S Chair, chances are you might love this Lo Res Chair from design group United Nude. Each chair is hand molded and comes standard in a matte silver or matte black finish. You can also have it custom finished if you prefer.
The Lo Res Project began a few years ago with architect Rem D Koolhaas (also United Nude’s co-founder) as Creative Director and Iddo Zimmerman as Head of Design. They 3D scan everyday objects and lower the resolution (i.e., making it more pixelated), all to create an angular, low-resolution version of it. Their idea is a way to “celebrate and recycle” design that already exists, as well as to create brand new works. So far they’ve created a shoe, a series of vodka glasses and a Lamborghini (yes, you heard me correctly).

They are currently developing their own automated and semi-automated design software. I cannot even begin to imagine all the cool things they will make in the future!

Rem D Koolhaas is actually the nephew of the famous starchitect Rem Koolhaas of OMA

Exactly. Rem D Koolhaas (the nephew) is an architect as well.

What a clever idea, why didn’t I think of that. The chair actually looks like it would be rather comfortable as well.
