Dwell on Design Exclusive House Tour: Kameon Otsea Residence

I couldn’t attend Dwell on Design this year, but I was lucky enough to be able to secure a few photographers to capture some of the house tours. Over the next week, you can see these exclusive house tour photos right here on Design Milk!

We’re finishing up the East side tour today with this cozy Echo Park home by Nicholas/Budd Architects.

From the architects:

The Kameon/Otsea house was a single story painting studio that was converted into a two story single family residence. The large open studio space was maintained as the main room of the house, and includes the kitchen, large dining area and living room, with huge sliding glass doors opening directly into the garden. The second floor has light filled rooms for sleeping, bathing and dressing, and a small shared office. Each room looks into the canopy of a large tree, and there is a lovely view of the neighboring hillside bordering Chavez Ravine.

  1. OMG, that kitchen is out of control! LOVE it! I’m also digging that tile in the bathroom. Any sources for the kitchen backsplash and shower tiles?

  2. Any idea where their kitchen tiles came from or where I can source?

  3. Many thanks for including our home! The tile is all from Heath – we got seconds at the Sausalito factory but you can purchase firsts directly from Heath.

  4. The kitchen and bathroom fixtures are fantastic – simple and functional, and they let the tile and other decor shine. I also love the old-school oven and multi-colored cabinets. Congrats Judy!

  5. Where is the outdoor furniture/accessories from? Is it Plain Air, or maybe Patio Culture? Did you use a specific landscape architect?

  6. O my, what is the source of that stove? I can find the image other places, but I’ve not yet found the source…
