Julia Kaldy created this set of shoes called Unibody, as part of her Master’s thesis project, that emphasize how the silhouette of the legs changes while wearing shoes of different heights. They colors have been made the same as light flesh so that they seem to merge with the rest of the body.

Truly sculptural and spectacular. Love that the skin colour works with the leg! Can we see some pics with them being worn?

“They colors have been made the same as flesh so that they seem to merge with the rest of the body.”
So I guess only white people are supposed to wear these, then? “Flesh” is not the same as “beige”.

I agree with Courtney…the illusion of the shoes seeming to meld with the wearer’s body would only work if the wearer was caucasian. Nice design though.

I agree with your comment and I as the designer of this collection I would have preferred it read “light flesh” color instead of just “flesh” color.

Hi Julie, That is a great suggestion. I am going to make that edit. Thank you.

Perhaps someone could say it like it is. Designing shoes to meld with one flesh colour is racist. Racist. Racist. Racist pure and simple. She should have been kicked out of fashion college.
