A Transparent Bubble You Can Live In: Cocoon 1 by Micasa LAB
We all want to escape sometimes and have a few moments on our own and Micasa LAB's Cocoon 1 is a bubble-like pod that gives you the solitude you might long for with several modern conveniences you might not want to live without. Their goal was to create a piece of furniture that becomes a separate little world, or a room within a room - basically, a whole new space.
Clever Wall Planter Idea: MOSSframe by Benetti Stone
Italian company Benetti Stone has decided to bring a bit of the outdoors in with their MOSSframe idea. They take natural stabilized lichen and contain it in a white lacquered frame that comes in seven different sizes for your walls. The collection requires zero maintenance due to the fact that it's treated. So you get a little bit of nature, without the cleanup or care that most plants and living things require.
Kate Tucker's Abstract Paintings
Kate Tucker is an Australian artist based in Melbourne who works mostly with painting and mixed media installation. She is inspired by the kaleidoscopic wonder of flora and fauna, which immediately makes sense upon viewing her lush, vibrant abstract pieces. For this week's CMYLK, we mocked up Colourlovers palettes of three acrylic works she created this year.
Friday Five with Jen Bilik of Knock Knock
If you've stuffed a Christmas stocking in the last ten years, chances are you've used a product conceived by Knock Knock. You know them, those tongue-in-cheek sticky notes and pre-printed grocery list pads in perky colors. Berkeley, California native Jen Bilik, who founded the company in 2002, achieved her goal, which was to create witty, design-driven goodies. Let's check out her inspirations in this week's Friday Five, some of which should make you smile.
Kenjo: Cabin-Like Prefab Guest House or Studio
Swedish company Kenjo designs small, cabin-like prefab rooms that can serve as guest houses, offices, studios or any other type of space that you like. Each cabin is built with glass sliding doors providing the openness that smaller module type structures are generally lacking.

Kristine Five Melvær recently exhibited tableware at Food Work, an exhibition initiated by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll that features 21 designs by eight Norwegian designers, shown during Designtide Tokyo 2012. These two pieces are part of her Still Life project, in which she reinterprets traditional still life motives.
Fresh From The Dairy: Art Pillows
I'm so excited that Society6 has just added pillows to their lineup of artist-designed products. So this week's The Design Milk Dairy is all about that fluffy, comfy home accessory that helps make your couch truly yours. You can order a pillow cover or a cover with an insert in 16"x16", 18"x18", or 20"x20".
Clean, Modern Office by Michaël Menuet Architecte
This renovation by Michaël Menuet Architecte took a Marseille-based office and re-imagined it into an open office environment but with individualized workspaces. The components are simple and clean with white, light unfinished woods, and a little pop of green for good measure.
iRock: The World's First Power-Generating iPad Rocking Chair
This chair makes me want to sing 'I wanna rock right now' really loudly (from Rob Base's song "It Takes Two") and I have the Zurich-based Micasa Lab to thank for that. They developed the iRock, a traditional looking rocking chair with the ability to charge your iPad (or iPhone) just by simply rocking back and forth.
The Awe-Inspiring Work of Chuck Close
Arguably the greatest painter alive, Chuck Close presents amazing new work at Pace Gallery in New York. His ability to calculate color is super-human and his perseverance in the face of dyslexia, prosopagnosia (face-blindness), and partial quadriplegia (!!!) is nothing short of incredible.
A Visit to Holly's House
Holly Wick opened her eponymous shop, Holly's House exactly one year ago, motivated by the desire to bring fresh, new design to West London. Wick, who also runs an interior design consultancy, stocks heaps of fantastic items from established brands, including Moooi and Diamantini & Dominiconi, alongside indie talent from the likes of Phoebe Richardson and Andy Macgregor. Let's celebrate Wick's first year of success with a Design Store(y) so we can learn (and see) more.
