My Couch, My Canvas is a project by Annebet Philips that's essentially a slipcover that you can drape on top of any couch. It's exaggerated lines make it seem like a cartoon.

Part of Singularité's new releases, Watching The Ships Roll In is a beautiful sofa/bench designed by Marie Dessuant made of beech wood and removable cushions.

Hocky is not your average seating collection - it's ridiculously smart. Designed by Marcin Wielgosz of Merely, Hocky is made of various sized segments of sofas and chairs with integrated tables that you can pick and choose to form the configuration you want.

Inspired by rocks lined up on a beach, the Isola collection was designed by the Italian duo, Gumdesign, for both Giovannetti Collezioni and Sacerdote Marmi. The collection consists of seating and marble tables, all with bright yellow metal frames.

During Helsinki Design Week, I visited Habitare 2012, a furniture and design fair that drew about 57,000 people over the five days it was open. There was such great work on display including a large amount of student designs and work by Finnish designers.

From the Barcelona design studio Ubica, the Nautico collection of outdoor furniture is a modular design with angled backs and sides made of stainless steel. The overall shape has clean lines that are made with its large, wide cushions making it comfortable to lounge poolside.

Socks + Furniture is a coffee table, floor lamp, and sofa that challenge one to take a second look at the mundane and not to overlook the simple things in life.
