Das Geheimnis: A Graphic Novel by Paul Tysall

As an owner of a newly purchased iPad, I’m continually amazed at all the things you can download and do with it. 2011 Year in Review: Best of Art

Our most popular Art posts this year tend toward the graphic in style, with clever shout outs to the social media realm as well as references to the historical. We’ve also included the crafty, like the insanely intricate cutting of leaves, the kitschy (hello My Little Pony), and some good, old-fashioned mixed media work. Day and Night Print by Jason Dean

Day and Night Print by Jason Dean

Jason Dean of The Best Part has done it again, releasing a creative new print that reminds me of a creepy movie I recently saw called The Orphan in which the little girl’s drawings dramatically changed when a blacklight was shown on them. Jason’s Day and Night poster looks like a pleasant town scene until you turn off the light. At night, the poster glows in the dark, revealing a completely different scene that includes zombies, robbers, and other seedy ongoings… what a fun idea!
