New Online Shop from Mila Hermanovski
As you already know, one of my favorite current fashion designers is Mila Hermanovski and (to my wallet's dismay) she's opened up an online shop where you can get her amazing FORM leggings as well as a selection of tops, bottoms and layers. I'm pretty excited about this.
Aerial Photograph Wall Mural Made of 44,000 Golf Tees
What can you do with 44,000 golf tees? You can make one gigantic, and most impressive, wall mosaic. It took Andrea Kordos and Joe Knight of blackLAB architects inc. four months and approximately 43,964 golf tees to make this wall magic happen in their very own office. Well, that, and a lot of hammering.
London Design Festival 2012: 100% Norway
100% Norway turned nine this year, making it only a year younger than the London Design Festival itself. To celebrate, it moved to a shiny new venue, Dray Walk Gallery, just around the corner from Tent. The light-filled space was a perfect backdrop for the cool understated Scandinavian design. It was designed by Amy Hunting and Oscar Narud; described by curator Henrietta Thompson as "two of the most innovative and capable young Norwegian designers in London."
Incredible Salt Installations by Motoi Yamamoto
Japanese artist Motoi Yamamoto creates large-scale installations with the most unlikely medium - salt. When he was in his early 20s, he quit his full-time job to become an artist and a few years later his younger sister lost her battle with brain cancer. Salt is something often associated with rituals at Japanese funerals and this was his way of connecting to memories of her.

The two Italian designers, Francesca Bonfrate and Alessandra Bove, that make up Bubble Design created an at-home gardening collection called Green Kit. Artist Damien Hirst has created a limited edition version of the ever popular Vipp Bin, The Dotted Vipp Bin, with inspiration from his iconic colorful dot design, Chloramphenicol Acetyltransferase. Designed exclusively for the opening of the Astrup Fearnley Museum in Oslo, Norway, there will be a limited number of them for sale at the museum.
Mandai Courtyard House by Atelier M + A
Located in a quiet nature reserve near the Upper Seletar reservoir, the Mandai Courtyard House is a peaceful single-story bungalow that's not often seen on the island of Singapore. Atelier M + A met the owner's request to keep the home on one floor instead of building as large as they could go which tends to be the norm.
Mid-Century Modern Design Flash Card Set by Jen Renninger
Jen Renninger finally turned her awesome modern paintings in to a flash card set. Each card has the name of the designer and a retro style pattern on the back on the card. The limited edition, numbered and signed set includes 26 cards with a small booklet with info about the designers.
Wheelbarrow Chair by Karl Sanford
Who says you have to employ a PR agent to get your work out there? Certainly not Karl Sanford whose wife submitted his Wheelbarrow Chair to us. Her pitch caught my eye and the clever design backed it up so we just had to post about it. I've seen chairs made from wheelbarrows before but none with the leg detail this one has.
A Day in the Life of Jeni Tu
A former national arts magazine editor and freelance writer with a degree in literature, Jeni Tu studied Industrial Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, finished her degree in San Francisco at California College of the Arts, and re-launched her career as a furniture and product designer. Tu lends us the details of a busy day for this month's Designer Dailies.
Chuck Anderson of NoPattern Meets Turnstone's Paper Table
You might know Chuck Anderson better as NoPattern, where galactic rainbows and vibrant explosions of movement rule. Turnstone recently gave Chuck a week to make a piece of art with their doodle-friendly Paper Table, and the result is a circular bubbly cloud-like world of color.
